Microsoft will be holding a hardware event on Wednesday, but this doesn’t mean that the Windows team isn’t working on getting new builds ready for insiders, and it turns out that a new one is already in the pipeline.

A screenshot posted by @NecrosoftScore shows Windows 10 Redstone 2 build 14955 available in Windows Update, which means that Microsoft is probably testing this release internally and if everything goes right, the firm should roll it out to fast ring insiders in a few days.

As usual, it’s too early to discuss changes and improvements that could be part of this release and it’s important to note that another version could very well get the go-ahead should Microsoft compile a new one that’s more stable and includes more fixes.

This is actually how things go as part of the Windows Insider program, as every new build is work in progress and the Windows team could decide not to release a specific build at the very last minute should a major bug be discovered.
The Redstone 2 update
Most likely, the next build would be released to users in the fast ring exclusively and will be probably be available on both PCs and mobile phones, as the software giant is trying to keep releases in sync and bring the same changes on all devices at the same time.

The Redstone 2 update is projected to launch in the spring of 2017, with some hints dropped by Microsoft itself indicating that March is a month targeted by the firm for the public launch. Windows 10 Redstone 2 could thus come as version 1703, which as per Microsoft’s naming approach means the third month of the year 2017 – Windows 10 Anniversary Update is version 1607 (July 2017), while the November Update is 1511 (November 2015).

In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed for a new build release in the coming days, as it’s all going to be a very busy week for all Microsoft fans worldwide.
