Pixel Launcher used to be called Nexus Launcher, and it’s scheduled to replace the old Google Now launcher that is currently being used on most Android devices.
The new launcher from Google features a different search widget, that needs to be activated in order to be used, the date and time by default, and an improved app drawer that opens up with a finger slide and not with a button.
In all other respect, the Pixel Launch is pretty much identical with the old Nexus Launcher, but that’s bound to change as the application evolves and the old app is being decommissioned.
Pixel Launcher will only work properly on devices that have at least Android 7.0 Nougat installed.
